Microneedling is the new generation of mesotherapy, that helps reduce wrinkles, tighten facial contours and brings an effective solution to many aesthetic problems that appear on the skin. It reduces the visibility of scars, stretch marks and helps tackle increased pigmentation. This effective method activates the formation of collagen and elastin, and triggers the rejuventating processes in the skin.

Microneedling is suitable for all types of skin and is a very safe alternative to laser treatment or IPL rejuvenation. It not only visibly improves the quality, but also rejuvenates the skin on the face, chest, neck and back of the hands, and can also be used to treat the abdomen and arms.

Microneedling works with a vertical applicator which minimises unnecessary injury of the treated area and provides a more comfortable method of treatment. The size and shape of the instrument makes it possible to treat the area of the nasal bridge or upper lip.

The concept of microneedling is based on the self-regenerative abilities of the skin. Using a manual high rotating electrical instrument, microneedles penetrate the skin vertically and in its deeper layers create microtraumas that stimulate the formation of collagen and elastin. The new collagen reduces the depth of the wrinkle, increases skin elasticity, improves the appearance of scars and other skin defects. The result is finer, smoother, firmer and younger skin.

Besides activating the collagen, the micropunctures create tiny channels through which any substance – applied on the skin surface – can be absorbed much quicker and more effectively. During treatment an active hyaluronic acid based serum enriched with various excipients (vitamins C, A and E, extracts from seaweed and many other substances) is also applied. The results of studies show that unlike mere application to the skin, the efficacy is increased of the active ingredient contained in the serum.

The dermatologist decides about the depth of the treatment depending on the site and required result of the treatment. Part of the microneedling instrument is the applicator which can be set at a penetration depth ranging from 0.25 mm to a depth of 2.5 mm. The microneedles are really very fine. In addition, the skin is treated with anaesthetic cream before the procedure so you do not feel any pain but only fine pressure during the procedure.

After treatment the skin is reddened like after longer exposure to the sun and a sensation of heat arises. The reddening lasts from 2 to about 72 hours depending on the spot and sensitivity of the skin. But the internal process of skin rejuvenation takes place for a further four to six months during which new collagen forms in the dermis and the skin becomes constantly smoother and suppler. Make-up can be applied already 48 hours after the procedure.

The facial treatment lasts about 30 minutes. Several sessions of microneedling are required depending on your age, number and depth of wrinkles or scars as well as the thickness of your skin. Obviously individual consultation is necessary. Two to three treatments in the period of several weeks are sufficient to remove wrinkles of surface or middle depth, but deep wrinkles and deep scars will require more procedures.

Contraindications: allergic reaction of skin to metal, active phase of acne, autoimmune diseases, application before sunbathing.
